Independent travel

A nice young lady working for GfKNOP was handing out survey forms on the bus yesterday, on behalf, she said, of an independent organisation called Passenger Focus.

Independent of what, I wondered.

According to their website ‘We are an independent public body set up by the Government to protect the interests of passengers.’ So not independent of passengers, I presume.

There are currently 10 board members, three board bus advisers and over 40 staff working out of two offices in London and Manchester.

Only two of the board members are women, which seems low. But then since men travel more than women I suppose that is fair.
